Tokyo-based, bilingual Japanese painter and digital artist Maco Hattori.

Tired of the Japanese corporate lifestyle and society’s rigid expectations of what defines a woman, Maco single-handedly left a lengthy career to fully devote herself to astrology studies, personal growth, and fine art.

Utilising handmade fluid art, photography, and digital collage techniques, she seamlessly blends traditional mediums with the contemporary, creating pieces that not only seem to push the boundaries of what defines art but also provide an almost clairvoyant preview of what’s to come.

Highly influenced by astrology, power stones, and the essence of femininity, she draws upon natural movements, flora, fauna, and landscapes to create art pieces that are as equally in touch with earth and humanity as it is with the unknown. 

Maco leaves her art open for interpretation but hopes to provide the beautifully naive and humane aim of spiritual comfort, emotional healing, and a chance for love.
